Elspeth is a cello teacher, conductor and arranger for educational groups. She currently teaches for the East Dunbartonshire Instrumental Music Service where she also conducts the String Ensemble - as well as teaching private pupils of all abilities.

Examples of Educational Arrangements
Elspeth currently holds the position of cello instructor with the East Dunbartonshire Instrumental Music Service and is extremely passionate about music education – devoting much of her time to tutoring orchestral residential courses and concerts for young people. She conducts the String Ensemble within the authority and regularly arranges for this group, as well as the Symphony Orchestra, and other ensembles. Elspeth regularly produces arrangements bespoke to these groups as well as smaller and larger ensembles of all abilities.
Elspeth believes in arranging music for educational purposes should cater for all the players involved. Every educational arrangement follows the philosophy of ‘a tune and a challenge’ but also caters for different abilities within sections.
Elspeth’s pupils regularly achieve excellent results in exams; have gained places in wide ensembles such as West of Scotland Schools; and have gone on to study at Junior Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and at University.
